The Motrano Hermitage, also known as Romitorio di Motrano, is an ancient hermitage located about 1 km northwest of the hamlet of Simignano, in the municipality of Sovicille, Tuscany. The earliest documentary evidence dates back to 1593, when the hermit Girolamo Savelli from Montalcino mentioned the place in a letter.
Although first documented in the 16th century, the hermitage features architectural elements dating back to the 12th century, suggesting medieval origins. The structure, now in ruins, harmoniously blends with the surrounding environment, offering an example of religious architecture immersed in nature.
