In the charming village of Ancaiano, near Sovicille, stands the Church of San Bartolomeo, a fine example of Tuscan Renaissance architecture. The current building was constructed in 1660 at the request of Pope Alexander VII Chigi, replacing a medieval church damaged during the 1554 siege of Siena.

The church features a Latin cross plan, a single nave, and a central dome. Inside are artworks by Segna di Bonaventura, Astolfo Petrazzi, and Neroccio di Bartolomeo.
